CREW is weekly events for homeschoolers which are included as part of your Harmony membership. The goal of CREW is to build friendships while engaging in enriching activities. CREW events vary among the active, cerebral, social, artistic, educational, creative, & athletic in order to provide experiences both in your comfort zone and opportunities to stretch, but always with an emphasis on the process of building relationships. For events with an element of friendly competition, there will be a focus on keeping it fun, supportive, & light-hearted. When appropriate, we will split up by ages; other times we will look to our older children to involve and support our younger CREWmates. All ages are welcome, although activities are designed with ages 6-12 in mind. Some activities (noted in yellow!) involve preparation at home. Participate to whatever degree makes sense for you–projects & presentations are always optional– but please note that if everyone comes just to look at projects, there will be no projects to look at ;). Attendance at CREW is limited to Harmony members only which builds community & comfort. We hope you come each week (consistency and investing time are keys to building trust & bonds of friendship), but it's not mandatory. To help make every event a success, advance registration is required so our leaders can plan activities and purchase the right amount of supplies. Registering at least one week in advance is greatly appreciated whenever possible. Need to join at the last minute? Just email Betsy at one.harmony.center@gmail.com within the final 24 hours to see if space and supplies are still available. We know life is unpredictable, and occasional last-minute cancellations are simply part of life. Because supplies are purchased based on registrations, we do ask families to register thoughtfully. If a family repeatedly registers but does not attend, they may be asked to reimburse Harmony for supplies purchased on their behalf. All events meet in Atherton Hall inside Countryside Church unless otherwise noted from 1:15 - 3:00 pm. Please note, CREW is not a drop-off program. A parent is expected to stay on-site to help supervise. Ages 8+ may drop-off optionally by “adding-on” a supervision fee to their registration of $7.50.
