What is CREW? CREW offers weekly events included as part of your Harmony membership. The goal of CREW is to build friendships while engaging in enriching activities. CREW events vary among the active, cerebral, social, artistic, educational, creative, & athletic in order to provide experiences both in your comfort zone and opportunities to stretch, but importantly, the emphasis is on building relationships through shared activities/experiences. CREW is parent-attended/supervised, with limited drop-off "slots" available this year! For events with an element of friendly competition, there will be a focus on keeping it fun, supportive, & light-hearted. When appropriate, we will split up by ages; other times we will look to our older children to involve and support our younger CREWmates. All ages are welcome (although a few activities may be best suited for 4+). Attendance at CREW is limited to Harmony members only which builds community & comfort. We hope you come each week (consistency and time are key to building trust & bonds of friendship), but it's not mandatory. Advance registration is required for all events so leaders can prepare and will close 24 hours before the event is scheduled to begin. This optimizes events’ success & minimizes wasted supplies. Life happens and occasional last-minute changes are to be expected; however, because supplies are purchased for the number of expected registrants, any family that repeatedly “no-shows” will be required to reimburse for unclaimed supplies purchased on their behalf. Text Betsy to inquire about the possibility of late adds within the 24-hour window. All events meet in Atherton Hall inside Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist 2035 N. Smith St. Palatine, IL 60067 unless otherwise noted. Meeting time is 2:00-3:30 Friday afternoons (see calendar for dates). This year, a limited number of drop-off slots for attendance at CREW will be made available each week for kids 8 and up. A separate drop-off ticket will need to be purchased (via our registration page). If a drop-off ticket is not purchased, please note that a parent is expected to stay on-site to help supervise during CREW and/or for kids under 8 years old. A few times a year, there are events that involve some preparation at home. Participate to whatever degree makes sense for you, but please note that if everyone comes just to look at fair projects, there will be no projects to look at ;). Event activities are subject to change as life unfolds. Click below to read about what we've got planned for CREW this year!
