Preschool Playgroup
When I was just beginning my homeschooling journey with my then 4-year-old and 2-year-old daughters, all I really wanted was a consistent group of other little ones for them to spend time socializing and playing with throughout the year... bonus if I could enjoy relating to some similarly-minded adults at the same time! With that in mind, we're offering a once-weekly, 1-hour and 45 minute parent-led playgroup.
What to expect:
Preschool playgroup is for families who are homeschooling preschool with their kids 2-5 years old. (Babies under 2 are welcome when attending alongside an 2-5 year old enrolled sibling--no fee.)
Playgroup is not drop-off. One parent or guardian is expected to stay and actively supervise their child in the preschool room. While supervising, parents are expected to uphold the Harmony Tenets as they apply.
Playgroup is for unstructured, child-led play. Children under 5 have their own agenda and mostly prefer it anything we have planned ;). This unstructured time allows children to move at their own pace/comfort and eliminates potential "performance & participation" pressure for parents. In this space, gentle "indoor" play is expected.
The primary goal is building rapport/relationships. Many children in this age group will need time to warm-up to new friends & faces. Many will still be engaging in "parallel play." We encourage you to keep coming consistently, follow their lead, and let them participate to whatever degree of socialization they are comfortable with as they build trust and familiarity over time.
Playgroup will be from 10:00 - 11:45 on Tuesdays indoors in the preschool room at Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist where there are a variety of toys to respectfully enjoy.
Cost:
To cover the costs of room rental & insurance, Preschool Playgroup costs @ $175 for the year (admission is rolling & fee is pro-rated at each quarter), plus a $105 (per household) annual administrative/membership fee that includes weekly CREW and Family Events as well.

Playgroup follows the Pathfinder Schedule.

Registration is now open on this website and continues on an ongoing basis throughout the year, provided there is space available.
