2026-2027 Harmony Programming

Taking off into Harmony's third year! Read on to learn more! We're grateful to be able to continue in 2026-7 in our rented Palatine location. We hope you'll join us on this year's adventure!

Harmony essentially functions as a private club. This ensures participants are aligned in their goals & values, fosters belonging & consistent community and helps pay for required expenses. Applications are now being accepted and will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year as space allows. New Members complete an new member application, virtual welcome meeting, and pay a refundable fee. Returning members will be invited via email and asked to submit only a Request to Renew & annual membership fee.
Our summer schedule is light & includes periodic fun family bonding experiences. (This summer: a drive-in movie, low/high ropes course, & pool party). We'll welcome everyone back at the end of August with a bonfire & all family "Amazing Race" game. Cost is $105/household for the year. CREW activities, off-site experiences, and quarterly family functions (nominal additional subsidization fee) are included as a benefit of membership. Memberships also help fund administrative costs, supplies, insurance, & rental fees. Families interested in trying only Choice Academy courses are invited to trial for free with us & defer membership until their second registration if desired.
Families participating in Preschool options only are eligible for a reduced membership of $25.

CREW is parent-attended but drop-off is also an option available for kids 8+ on a limited basis at a rate of $5/hour.

Harmony Choice Academy (HCA) courses provide kids an opportunity to create a schedule to enrich and enhance their educational journey while pursuing or exploring their interests. Experienced instructors share their expertise, & the course offerings change quarterly.
Membership is required, but Harmony provides a trial quarter for students' first quarter with no membership obligation! Classes register each quarter, providing for full flexibility throughout the year. All our classes include rapport/relationship-building activities weekly, regardless of topic, and students may opt to stay for lunch and recess. In this way, Harmony kids are able to not only build independence and gain new skills, but also grow their bonds of friendship with other Harmony kids through participation for more than in "one-off" classes, park district classes, etc. Registration opens 5-6 weeks before the upcoming quarter's first day of class. Check back often!

Harmony offers two types of Preschool opportunities for our 3-4 year olds.
Preschool Playgroup is a parent-supervised, totally unstructured 2-hour indoor playtime in the preschool room to give our littlest homeschoolers a chance to make consistent friendships & practice their socialization skills. We will accept rolling registrations provided space is available beginning mid-summer.
Harmony Busy Bees Preschool--part of Choice Academy--provides a 2-hour preschool program with greater structure and adult guidance. Choice Academy "Busy Bees" Preschool is a parent-attended program led by professional educators which will follow each child's growing need for support or independence from their parent. Registration will open by Aug. 1. Check back frequently!

Looking for involvement that's outdoors and less structured? Harmony coordinates a local group hike/free-play outing each season: Fall, Winter, & Spring. (Included with Membership)

Harmony Members are connected via a private app and invited to create and coordinate their own social & enrichment opportunities to extend to the group. Parent-coordinated experiences may include community service events, museum trips, playdates, private tours, etc.
